Come one, come all! On September 9 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., St. Luke’s Church will host its fourth annual English Fête!
Bring the whole family for an afternoon of food, games, and music. Festive village fêtes are fairs, a summer tradition in the UK, complete with their own style of carnival games like Splat the Rat, Smash the Crockery, Wet Sponge Throwing, and more. Other staples of these annual events include live music, cake stalls, car shows, raffles and, of course, beer, tea, and lots of traditional English foods.
Along with all the above elements, we have two unique acts booked, Sound and Fury Morris Dancers and Celt Check playing lively traditional Olde English songs. New this year is a spinning wheel demo and Rubber Chicken Chucking competition. There will be a bouncy castle for the little ones and a pub for the big ones, plus an enticing silent auction. Time to pick up some treasures. Be sure and RSVP if you wish to reserve a space for High Tea in the garden!
All proceeds help keep St. Luke’s vibrant and supporting our work feeding the hungry, helping the homeless and partnering with Communities in Schools, Renton to meet the needs of youth in our city.
Come on down for an hour or three!
