If you do not provide chosen readings, or if St. Luke Church determines your chosen reading does not meet the dignity of the service we seek to provide, we will contact you by email and suggest alternatives. If you do not respond by email within 36 hours, St. Luke Church will use Ecclesiastes 3:1–8 and Romans 8:14–19, 34–35, 37–39 as readings.
  • Copyright and Permissions. Many musical pieces and poems, especially contemporary or popular songs and poems, are copyrighted and require permissions and require the payment of royalties. If you choose a musical piece or reading outside of St. Luke Church’s list of suggestions, St. Luke Church will contact the publisher and relay to you the costs of purchasing rights for the work you would like to include in the funeral. Most permissions take a week’s time to obtain; however, please be aware that depending on the publisher, the process of obtaining rights for a poem or piece of music may be prolonged and costly.
    • If the timeline for procuring rights fits your schedule and the price fits your budget, St. Luke Church will obtain the required rights and send you an invoice for the rights, billed at cost, and billed separately from the rest of the funeral.
    • If you or St. Luke Church determines that the timeline for procuring rights does NOT fit your schedule, or if the cost of procuring rights does NOT fit your budget, St. Luke Church will contact you with alternatives.

Changes

  • Changes in Funeral Options. If at any time, you desire to make any changes or variations from the completed funeral or from any material or work in progress, and those changes result in additional costs to St. Luke Church, including person hours, you will be required to reimburse St. Luke Church for such additional costs, payable at a rate of $100/hour.
  • Cancellation and Postponement. A cancellation or postponement is defined as a rescheduling of the  production to a later specific date caused or directed by you or cancellation of the project by you without mutual agreement with St. Luke Church. If St. Luke Church blocks out a specific period of time with the agreement that it represents your firm commitment, then St. Luke Church makes no further efforts to sell the time. If the job is canceled or postponed, it is unlikely that this time can be re-booked.
    • A. If you provide notice of cancellation/postponement to St. Luke Church ONE TO FOUR CALENDAR DAYS prior to the commencement of the funeral, and without mutual agreement by both you and St. Luke Church, you will be liable to St. Luke Church for the full cost of the funeral.
