Al‑Anon is a mutual support program for people whose lives have been affected by someone else’s drinking. By sharing common experiences and applying the Al-Anon principles, families and friends of alcoholics can bring positive changes to their individual situations, whether or not the alcoholic admits the existence of a drinking problem or seeks help.
The Wednesday Study/Discussion Group meets each Wednesday afternoon. The Wednesday noon group is reflecting on Backpacking with the Saints, by Belden Lane. Tom Cashman will facilitate, and each discussion will last one hour.
The Wednesday Study/Discussion Group will finish Peter Block's book, Community next Wednesday. We will also decide what book we'll read next at this July 29 meeting—please attend (via Zoom) and weigh in! All are welcome.
A half-hour of silent meditation begins at 5:30 pm. We gather in the sanctuary (altar area) of the church. Alcoholics Anonymous is an international fellowship of men and women who have had a drinking problem. It is nonprofessional, self-supporting, multiracial, apolitical, and available almost everywhere. There are no age or education requirements. Membership is open to anyone who wants to do something about his or her drinking problem.
We celebrate our lives in Christ, proclaiming an authentic faith for real people. We proclaim God’s love for all through ritual, song, prayer, scripture, silence, beauty, and communion.
